These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PG Pilot ("Service"), operated by PG Pilot ("we", "us", or "our"). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

PG Pilot is a PostgreSQL monitoring service that collects and analyzes database performance metrics. The Service consists of:

  • A daemon that runs on your infrastructure and collects metrics from your PostgreSQL database
  • A web dashboard for viewing and analyzing those metrics
  • APIs for programmatic access to your data

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission
  • Use the Service to monitor databases you do not own or have permission to monitor

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

We offer different subscription tiers with varying features and limits. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your billing period
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • You retain ownership of your data
  • We only collect database metrics, not your actual data
  • You grant us a license to process your metrics to provide the Service
  • You may delete your data at any time

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice when possible
  • Suspend service for emergency maintenance or security issues
  • Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by PG Pilot and protected by intellectual property laws. The PG Pilot daemon is provided as a binary for your use with the Service only.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for actions taken based on insights from the Service

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PG Pilot from any claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ends immediately
  • We may delete your data after a reasonable period
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PG Pilot operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
