This Privacy Policy describes how PG Pilot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our PostgreSQL monitoring service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor (Stripe).

Database Metrics

The PG Pilot daemon collects performance metrics from your PostgreSQL database, including:

  • Query statistics from pg_stat_statements (normalized queries with literal values removed)
  • Index usage and health statistics
  • Table statistics including dead tuples and vacuum information
  • Replication status and lag information
  • Connection counts and states
  • PostgreSQL configuration settings

We do not collect your actual data. We only query PostgreSQL system catalogs and statistics views. Query texts are normalized to remove literal values before being sent to our servers.

Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and browser type.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our service
  • Display database metrics and insights in your dashboard
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
  • Process payments and prevent fraud

Data Retention

We retain your database metrics according to your subscription plan (7 days for Free, 30 days for Pro, 1 year for Enterprise). Account information is retained until you delete your account.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS
  • Database credentials never leave your infrastructure
  • API tokens are hashed and can be regenerated at any time
  • We use industry-standard security practices

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our service (hosting, payment processing)
  • Law enforcement when required by law
  • Other parties with your consent

Your Rights

You may:

  • Access, update, or delete your account information at any time
